Getting Fit at 50!

That’s it! Time to get fit!

There comes a time when you take a good hard look at yourself and decide its time for a change.

I did that last year and have been working ever since to be healthy, lose weight, and get fit. It hasn’t been an easy journey, and the journey isn’t over yet. But the benefits have been well worth the efforts undertaken.

I’ll be exploring and sharing what it takes to get fit when you’ve reached 50 years of age and above. No, we ain’t dead! No, we ain’t old! We’re on a journey to be feisty, fab and fit!

I’ll be talking clean eating, working out, dealing with health issues that affect women our age (think pre-menopause and achey joints for example), and how to stay motivated when the going gets rough and tough.

You can also follow along as I work my fitness and health plan. I’ll share what I’m going through, and you can chime in with your thoughts.

Note that this was originally written back in 2010. Since the death of my husband in June 2011 I haven’t been doing any of this fitness stuff. Didn’t even quit smoking, though that’s what killed my hubby. Sooooo….I’ve lost quite a bit of weight though I need to do some firming up, and I’m also in the process of getting off of nicotine.

I will be 50 in 6 months. I am excited to see your fitness section and love what you have to say “We’re on a journey to be feisty, fab and fit!” You are a great motivator, I have been working on trimming away the post surgery weight that I gained after my 6 surgeries that have been done in the last 5 years. I was crushed at work and had both my rotator cuffs repaired with titanium screws in both and my neck nerve opening on the left side drilled out.

I am medication free and that in its self is fabulous. That has been for about 1 1/2 years now. I have pain still but it is manageable.

Now to get the extra inches off of my body will be wonderful too. I have been steadily dropping pounds by eating properly and walking and doing movement exercises to strengthen my range of motion and build stamina & strength in my muscles as there were many muscle groups that were affected by each part of my injury’s that I sustained.

God has more in store for me I believe because I am still here finding Joy in the things that I am finding and one of them is you. Thank you for all you do for others and I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Blessings to you with Love & Light,
    Lisa Bull
